    The St.

The St. Jadoor Inn in Al-Azraq is a special place in a special environment. The rather simple hostel offers everything you need, even if you better bring your own breakfast :-). The standard is properly described and is in line with the price. The best thing about the hostel is the owner with his engaging friendly manner. We felt more like visiting acquaintances than in a hotel. He also had quite a few tips on the highlights of the area (Wetland, Desert Castles, etc.). A sign on the road would be helpful to find the hostel, but once there you've arrived!

Azraq is a little traveled spot in Jordan, and for a reason.

Azraq is a little traveled spot in Jordan, and for a reason. It's desolate and frankly, a dump. That said, it's worth driving out for the wetlands and to see the Oryx, at the two local preserves. We were delighted with both. The wetlands have two trails with bird hides and good signs, and we saw many excellent birds there (a passion of mine). We then drove to the Shaumarii preserve and took the long safari, which was well worth it. The Azraq castle is dark and gloomy, but Amra is a gorgeous delight. Traveling to this odd little corner of Jordan was well worth our time. We spent two nights, ate at the nature lodge, and were ready to go on the third day.
